A group of avid Bergen Running Club members needed no excuses to gather for an epic pre-summer BBQ at the scenic Rockland Start Park to kick off the Memorial Day Weekend. Following a practice run ahead of the Tenafly 5K on the first Sunday of June, (spoiler: Stay tuned for this event! ), Bergen Runners brought their home-cooked food to the beautiful lakeside state park for a fun “Run-and-Grill-BBQ” gathering. 

The group enjoyed an afternoon of activities, food and desserts as the participants bantered and exchanged stories and workout and diet tips. 

The day ended with a video recording of the runners’ signature “Race and Cheer” posture. Whether running fulfills a passion, a need for speed or both, it inevitably connects our body and mind.  In some instances, it may even allow for our mind to transcend our physical limitation and achieve the unthinkable.
